i am from tunisia , for those who don't know tunisia , it is an arab , 99.99 % are muslim , but i don't know where i can find teachers of calligraphy near to me , so i decided to start at home , can i get advises please , because i don't what tools i need , i watched videos , but i wan't more info , how i can creat my tools with my own , i am arabic speaker , i can read Coran , so it is easy to me to start , and translate my feeling with calligraphy !

Curretly i don't have a master calligrapher. For those who do, please share any tips, recommendations, anything so that we all can benefit.

I am working on present for my friend. I want to write her name, Shirazi, in Persian Calligraphy, in the Nastaʿlīq script. I found a Nastaʿlīq font and created this.

But i was told that this font has problems so i found this from a piece of art, which i think says Shirazi

So i did a little image manipulation and moved the dots to hopefully make it more accurate, and created this

I was hoping someone could confirm that this is correct before i try writing it myself, and if it is incorrect could someone please give me some advice on how to fix it.

I've a reed and it has a different thickness on each end.

Is there a particular reason I should prefer the thinner end or the thicker end?

yes cleaning the pen reduces that effect. I'm cleaning the pens all the time or recutting them.

Unfortunately I can not watch that video from Germany. On that video there is a copyright. If you could give me some keywords, or an alternative link I might be able to find it myself.

Tezhip is an art mainly practiced in Turkey and Iran today. It involves very complex designs on a tiny level, oven with mirrored or repeated geometric designs. Since most of the work is done in Turkey, most of the material written about it is in Turkish. Unfortunately I do not know more about it than having seen it on some calligraphic work. If I'm not wrong Mr. Zakariya does it himself. At least I saw it on his website.
